January 24th 2007: Announcement of the closing of the Production Plant in Viana with the following note for the press:
Caucho Metal Products was founded in 1985 as an industry that manufactured antivibration components for the car industry and, at the same time, fulfilled the needs of the national market by means of a productive plant in Logroño.
In the 90ties, C.M.P. started the exportation of its products to the European Community. At this time, C.M.P. manufactured its products following the customers’ orders, with a little participation of C.M.P. in the development and adjustment of the product to the vehicle.
In 1.995, C.M.P. reached a figure of invoicing of 7.7 million euros and, thus, the amount of customers and sales grew up considerably.
At the beginning of the present decade, C.M.P. made three important strategic decisions for its future development:

1. Different productive plants: at present, C.M.P. has factories in three different countries and new factories are planned in India and China before the end of 2.008, in order to supply  the local markets, completing and consolidating the current factories in Brazil, Spain, Romany, therefore, counting up to 5 productive plants in 2.008.

2. Diversification of the product: in 2.004 Montajes Abrera started the production of components that were delivered JIT to SEAT in Martorell.

3.-Focus on the development of the product by means of I+d+i making the designs of antivibration components for customers such as GM, VW, PEUGEOT, CITROEN, MERCEDES, FORD, among others.

All this together with offering the market innovation of its type of  product.
C.M.P. is restructuring its actions and thus:
-The plant of C.M.P. in Viana is going to be closed, moving the production of this plant to the other plants in Romany and Logroño, assuring the employment for 220 people in Logroño.
- Develop the technology plant of C.M.P. in Logroño, where the I+D+i and the development of the product is done to give service to all the plants of the group located in 5 countries, and thus, employing 53 people (74% with a university degree) in its technologic centre.
The C.M.P. group that last year invoiced 80 million euros will reach a turnover of 140 million euros in 2.008.
